Bonnie HarveyBonnie was born in West Virginia on a 150 year old family farm. She then attended Elon University and graduated with a BA in International Relations and Africa/African American Studies
After college she served two years in Peace Corps Malawi as a Community Health Advisor, and an additional year as an AmeriCorps Volunteer teaching Philadelphia high school 'push-outs'. After three years of service, she continued her education by achieving a MS in Applied Anthropology from Portland State University - exploring placed-based service learning and stewardship in Appalachia. As she continue her work in community development, she utilizes this blog to provide a lens of change through the eyes of an anthropologist working in the field and amongst people from around the world. |
